Gun/Knife Disarms and Defense
Instruction includes statistical data regarding assaults with weapons as well as evasion, trapping, and
disarms for knives, pistols and long guns at close range.
Sessions consists of a brief lecture period and hands on application and practice by participants.
Duration: approximately 1 hour.
Student Participation: Will execute demonstrated techniques, including joint locks.
Reality Considerations for Hand to Hand Combat
A very special look at personal combat with all the usual obstacles found on the street and causes of your
actions in defending yourself successfully.
This event is such that students SHOULD NOT wear their uniform but should wear “junk” clothes.
Hosting Instructors MUST consult at length with Shidoshi before scheduling this event.
Duration: At least 2 hrs.
Student Participation: Students will engage in grappling, and ground fighting under unusual circumstances.
Tournament Referee Certification by TBDKMASI
Covers all aspects of serving as Chief judge, Score keeper, or corner judge at a tournament. Includes:
Ethics
Observation techniques
Hand signals and verbal calls
Dealing with spectators
Scoring types (1-4, 1-100, clicker, decision)
Chief Judge considerations and duties
Corner Judge Considerations and duties
Score keeper considerations and duties.
Hands on certification period
Lecture is incorporated into hands on experience. Hosting instructors must provide a marked area to serve
as a ring.
Offered to students ranked 1st Dan and above only.
Duration: Varies by number of participants to be certified.
Student Participation: Students will engage in a mini mock tournament for the purpose of practicing their
judgment. At least 2 students will be needed to serve as “competitors”.
Instructor Development Course 1
Shidoshi will show you how to teach, what to look for, tips, tricks and proven techniques for quality
instruction. Learn how to properly handle disruptive students, classroom injury and illnesses, child protection and
many other topics.
Home Protection
Students will learn and practice special techniques for confronting home invaders and similar conflicts
which occur in the home.
The hosting Instructor will need to consult with Shidoshi before the scheduled date of event.

Student Participation: In Depth
Homeland Security Level 2
Our nation is now faced with the threat of domestic terrorism like never before. This seminar faces those
issues and teaches the participants the safest and most tactically sound methods for confronting terrorism in our communities.
Level 2 approaches the topic of terrorism largely through lecture.
Duration: 1 hour
Student participation: Minimal/None
Homeland Security Level 1
Level 1 of this seminar teaches the harsh reality of domestic terrorism including the carnage, confusion,
and fast paced atmosphere of an actual attack. A significant amount of preparation and participation by a considerable amount
of people is necessary for the full benefit of this seminar.
